he TEMP-BAG was inventively made to alleviate the various social, economic and environmental impacts bedeviling different income groups in Zimbabwe and elsewhere.
What is a TEMP-BAG?
The TEMP-BAG is a non-electric/thermal, heat retention slow cooker which allows foods that have been brought to boil for a minimal stipulated time, on the stove, and any other fuel source to continue cooking for several hours after it has been removed from the fuel source and put into the bag. The bag further, serves as a warmer and cooler. In this way it serves 3 function of cooker, warmer and cooler. The TEMP-BAG team calls this the COWACO triple function.
The Science behind….
Basically, the TEMP-BAG is insulated with thermal retention properties. These properties make it possible for the bag to retain whatever temperatures already captured by implements transferred or put into the bag for the purposes of cooking, warming or chilling immobilized foods or drinks.
The COWACO triple function
1. COOKER
The temp-bag will cook foods which can be cooked using the boiling method. Food can be absolutely and perfectly cooked after it has been brought to boil using the main fuel source. Foods include but not limited to rice, potatoes, beef, green mealies, butternuts and even mazondo.
2. WARMER
Since the temp-bag is manufactured to restrict any kind of heat loss, it can altogether keep foods which have been placed in the bag whilst hot warm for a minimum 4 hours. To maximise its warming function to keep the bag closed down without any disturbances or frequent interruptions.
3. COOLER
With its thermal retention properties, the temp-bag will allow the bag to serve as a cooler by systematically retaining the coldness of cold beverages or frozen foods and beverages whatever the case maybe in the same state of being cold or frozen. In this way, water can be kept cold in the bag for up to 6 consecutive days. Whereas frozen foods or beverage for up to several hours. All this depends on the severity and frequency of interruption with the bag. Fewer interruptions will serve you well.
